Reese's Peanut Butter Cookie Cups

I’m very excited to be featured on Jen’s blog, Beantown Baker, as part of her Friday Favs series today!  You’ll find my recipe there for these Reese’s Peanut Butter Cookie Cups.  They have a peanut butter cookie bottom filled with a Reese’s cup and are topped with a layer of eggless peanut butter cookie dough and a touch of chocolate ganache.  I thought these would be the perfect little decadent treats to take to a summer potluck or BBQ. I’m going to my 10 year college reunion this weekend and then heading to a science conference in Rhode Island next week, so I hope you enjoy checking these out while I take a little break from my kitchen and computer!

Fruit-Filled Coconut & Chocolate Dessert Sushi

When my hubby and I got married, we had a sushi feast at our rehearsal dinner. To keep with the theme (like all good brides strive to do...), I wanted to serve dessert sushi. I searched the internet to see if there was something I could make and called bakeries, but...

Chocolate Dulce De Leche Bars

Every month when the dining hall menu was released during college, my roommates and I circled one day on the calendar. This was a day that was not to be forgotten. This was a day that we quickly scurried to lunch giddy with anticipation. This was a day that was simply...

M&M Cashew Pretzel Bars

Our whirlwind NYC tour would not have been complete without visiting a few famous bakeries! The two at the top of my list were Bouchon and Levain, so the first thing we did after checking into our hotel was head up to Bouchon Bakery in the Time Warner Center right...

Spiced Apple Cupcakes

I figured it’s about time that I actually post a cake recipe - you know, since my blog is called Cake, Batter, and Bowl and all... I couldn’t resist the cute word play on Shake, Rattle, and Roll when I was brainstorming names with my Dad over Christmas last year, but...

Honey Sesame Cashew Brittle

I think I inherited my love of peanut brittle from my grandpa. My brother and I always gave him a few boxes of brittle for Christmas when we were growing up and I can’t see peanut brittle and not think of him! Whenever I’m in a gourmet candy shop I may peruse the...

Balsamic Strawberry and Goat Cheese Tarts

I’m sitting in Heathrow right now taking advantage of the free internet from Starbucks before we head to Vilnius via Helsinki in a couple of hours! I’m a planner by nature and usually take charge of organizing all the details of our vacations, but this time Apolinaras...

Mini Brownie Cheesecakes with Caramel Peanuts

A few weekends ago, I completed the Buzzard’s Bay Sprint Triathlon! This tri consisted of a 1/3 mile swim, 14.7 mile bike ride, and 3.1 mile run. My official time was 1:34:08, so my splits were almost exactly the same as the ones from the tri I did last year, but...

My Mom’s Culinary Arts Program and Chocolate Cake

I’ve been meaning to tell you about the very cool Culinary Arts High School Program my mom runs at Central Campus in Des Moines, Iowa for awhile now, and I figured this would be the perfect opportunity since I won’t be cooking up any recipes to share while we’re on...
